Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness - the world's first phone with a transparent screen.

Talk. Text. Time. That's how it sounds the slogan for the fashion phone Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness. This model is fully justified by its name: Pureness - simplicity, purity and executes only the most basic functions such as reception and making calls, sending and receiving SMS-messages and displays the time.It can even be attributed to fashionable accessories designed for active, stylish people who do not need many features of modern technology-based phone models. Xperia Pureness is not like any of the previously known fashion phones and has a unique device and unusual appearance. The fact is that in creating this model, the designers have used extremely lightweight materials. The result is a light, almost weightless apparatus, which seems to dissolve in the hand of its owner.Weighs Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness only 70 grams and its thickness is 13 mm. Body and screen phone made entirely of plastic, without the use of all of us to the usual metal and glass. However, on the back surface still has a small metal insert, which is designated serial number. Nevertheless, it is so small that practically does not increase the mass of the phone.Pureness is not noted due ostentatious luxury and chic, which use to do a lot of modern premium phones. It does not contain gold and leather inserts, inlays and exclusive pictures. The maximum possible simplicity and purity of lines – that’s the success of the phone Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness. In stand-by mode, the symbols on its keys and the screen is not visible at all, but when activated, on the contrary, it is filled with light and charm. The main feature of this model is the unusual translucent screen. This unique part allows you to simultaneously see the digital clock or other characters on the display, plus the other real items through it. Despite to such an unusual structure, the phone has a very user-friendly interface, and the information shown on the screen is clear and readable.Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness has much in common with the classical models of Sony Ericsson. It contains the same interesting themes, very user-friendly menu, several variations of digital clock, etc. In addition, Pureness has 2 GB of internal memory and one of the best Bluetooth-headsets in the kit. By the way, the headset Sony Ericsson IS800 is the most miniature of all known at the moment. The manufacturers of Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness offer their customers a special service, delivery by courier to any specified address. By the way, in the box with the device is indicated a special telephone number. If the phone has something wrong, you can call this number and within 48 hours it will be replaced with a new high-quality phone in any country. However, such cases are a rarity, but the service, as they say, above all else.

Samsung phones classification

Samsung Electronics Ltd – the world’s most famous corporation from South Korea, specializing mainly in the production of communications, high-quality electronics and competitive consumer electronics. But the most fame for company brought the cell phones, which without a doubt are the best on the market. All the Samsung phones necessarily contain in their name the abbreviations “SCH” or “SGH”, which stands for Samsung / CDMA (or GSM) Hand Held Phone - the term is translated simply as "mobile phone". After this comes a letter, which indicates the class of the phone, further more - three-digit numeric code.

Samsung Corporation - leader in the production of mobile phones

One of the most popular mobile phone manufacturers around the world without a doubt is Samsung Electronics ltd. This South Korean corporation, founded almost 40 years ago, now produces almost everything related with the electronics, communications and consumer electronics. However, Samsung creates not only home electronics - in the assets of the company are also included satellites for the space industry, ships for the navy, some types of weapons for the army, including tanks, and there was a time when the corporation produced even cars.Absolutely all of Samsung departments have a fairly close co-operation among them, which allows the company to take the leading and most active position in the production of an unusually wide range of various goods, and above all - Samsung cell phones, which have became the visit card of the corporation in any home on earth. Not many manufacturers offer their customers such a great variety of models that take into account the diversity of needs and tastes of various types of modern mobile phone users. The most important feature of Samsung phones is the unusually wide number of colors applied to phones - the vast majority of models from Samsung are made in several color options from the start. It should be noted that the brand is renowned not only by design - the functionality of the phones often can leave you with the mouth wide opened, because in the Samsung phones series we can find the most competitive communicators and smart phones. Such constant directions as innovation, technology and design are the main advantages of Samsung cell phones, constantly updated and amazingly wide-ranging.All Samsung manufacturing and assembly facilities are located in South Korea, but recently, some models of phones are assembled in China, but basically, only those models which do not require high quality - budget models. All the elite and quite expensive and prestigious models are assembled only in South Korean factories. The warranty for Samsung brand cell phones is usually 3 years, of which the first year is covered by full warranty. The next 2 years, free is only the service, which means that the cost of the spare parts is supported by the client.

Nokia X6 mobile phone preview

Good news for the global consumer of Nokia products - the annual exhibition entitled «Nokia World 09" took place a few months ago in September ‘09. During this event was presented the newest Xseries music device with the brand name X6.

For long time already the novelties from Nokia are not only a tradition, but also a real surprise. Any fan of the Nokia phones is keen to know all the features of each new item before anyone else, and this time the press release did not disappoint anyone.

So, what kind of device has released Nokia at this time? Nokia X6, as it turned out, was the most natural continuation of the famous Nokia 5800. And, as expected, this unit now looks much more elegant and stylish. Of course, the price of this unit was somewhat higher than the cost of his predecessors, but it should be noted that Nokia X6 in comparison with all of them has a number of clear advantages.

The most important qualitative difference of X6 was a much higher and careful assembly work. The released novelty is made now only in black case, which has two color inserts at both sides. Today began the mass production of handsets with red and blue inserts also. But not only the stylish design drew an universal attention to Nokia X6, because there is another important feature of this phone – the screen, is huge, measuring 3.2 inches and being among the bigest existing ones, close to world standards for smartphones. The phone’s display is protected by a solid glass, and for the management of this model is needed only one finger, and therefore we should not forget that the stylus proposed with this model, Nokia X6, does not fit - the new device simply does not react.

Well, of course, we have to talk about the photographic possibilities of the novelty - they are also very encouraging. Nokia X6 received a 5MP camera equipped with high-grade Carl Zeiss optics and dual flash. Unfortunately the software of the new model is not something mega extraordinary different, most of the part is simply copied without any improvements from Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. In these circumstances, the price 450 euros seems a little high, but it is only at the first glance. After all, the real potential of Nokia X6 is only about to be disclosed. In any case, such a reputable company would not establish on their novelties unreasonable prices.

Samsung S5230 Star mobile phone review

Samsung S5230 Star - a star among the touchscreen phones. S5230 Star from Samsung is truly a star among the phones with touch screen. If not very large, then bright enough to be seen. In this class, it has a fairly inexpensive price.

The phone's design deserves the qualification "super". Beautiful and stylish, this mobile phone is appreciated by almost everyone. About the quality of the material and assembly - no complaints. Support for Bluetooth, memory card (micro SD), FM-radio, music player - an incomplete list of what Samsung S5230 Star has to offer.

The 3MP digital camera is of good quality, particularly for daytime shooting. However, it does not autofocus. However, this fact brings disadvantages as well as advantages. Will be difficult to read a captured in macro text, but there is no delay in shooting the other, major, objects and events. If autofocus is available, this means time loss, sometimes up to two seconds. Here, the minus sign turns into a big plus. The videoclips can be recorded immediately and in good quality.

It is very convenient to work with the phone's screen. You get used to the touch control very quickly, and already can not imagine any other way of control. In vertical position, it shows a normal phone keypad, but when turned horizontally, it will display you a usual for PCs QWERTY-keyboard. Despite the small size of the buttons, the control is performed, surprisingly, smoothly. Even the handwritten input is error-free, despite terrible handwriting that someone may have. Moreover, there are recognized both printed and handwritten letters. Let’s agree, it is very convenient. To control the screen, a stylus is not provided. Although, in practice, I have determined that it reacts to it. Using the stylus from a pirated (Chinese) version of Nokia, can facilitate the work in browser and phone games. You can even use a matchstick or toothpick. But this is only for more convenience, because the fingers are enough since all the menu functions are sufficiently big. By the way, about the browser, it is a Samsung development and seems to be convenient to all users, even for those accustomed to other browsers.

The multimedia player itself raises no objections. We are very pleased that the equalizer works. It really works, unlike some other phones, where it performs a nominal function. Well, the headset is for amateurs. If do not like big headphones, replace them with something convenient for you. It is not essential. What we really liked it is the switching applications function without exiting them – this is also very convenient. In order not to close the browser to answer the SMS message, just click the appropriate button, then without any problems you can return back to the previous task. And that’s work with all the applications.

When you connect the phone to a computer via USB, it also charging. In general, no problems with the battery, it can last, depending on the intensity of its use, from 4 to 7 days. When the battery is low, the phone is trying to help the user, limiting access to video and other energy consuming applications, leaving the only access to calls and sms. The screen’s backlight is automatically dimmed. All this allows to stretch the time until a possibility of recharging occurs, a very convenient feature.

A small drop of tar in a huge vat of honey is the fading display in the sun. But it is not so important and fundamental. The phone and its functions and perceptions are not affected. For me, Samsung S5230 Star was a pleasant discovery. Convenience, comfort, availability of all the functions mandatory in modern phones, it has become a criterion for further long-term use and recommendation to friends.

Nokia 5130 Xpress Music mobile phone review

Nokia 5130 Xpress Music matches its price. Those times when the mobile phone was just a phone meant only for communication have passed. Nowadays, such parameters as voice quality and confidence of signal reception are not so important. Perhaps due to the fact that the phone is considered a multifunctional device, where communication is just a small part of it. Therefore, trying to meet the customers taste and to maintain sales, the manufacturers increasingly are stuffing their devices with new and diverse functions.
Nokia is not an exception, and have produced so far not only one device which claims to be musical. Even from the name Nokia 5130 Xpress Music we can understand its category. Therefore, we will start our analysis with the musical part, its sound quality on this phone and the ease of use. A pretentious name implies a quality of the same level. Not at this time, Xpress Music did not impress on this segment. No, the quality is ok. Even for a good level of volume. But, that’s all, nothing more. I was expecting from it something much more. But what can you expect from a phone which costs slightly more than 150 USD? The quality is according with the price. I’ve noticed that many users like the louder the better. It’s a pity to name such people music lovers. Nokia phones stand-out through their high music volume, that’s fact. This would be wonderful if the quality would match the volume. But this is for a different price. A good thing is that through the external speaker and through headphones is the same quality and totally acceptable. However, I’ve changed the headphones immediately. This is a trifle. Well, I would like to add a better camera. From 2 MP you can not expect too much. Although, it must be noted that on Nokia 5130, the camera is among the best in its class.

Of course, a small display does not bring much happiness. But you can see everything without straining the eyes. I would like to add more saturated colors and their shades. But again, remember the price? In rest the phone is made qualitatively, with a comfortable keyboard that works well. What, in fact, is typical for Nokia. Comfortable body, the size and thickness allows the phone to fit in your hand. No complaints about the quality of materials and assembly. But from some friends I have heard complaints about various little things. They seem to be a victim of counterfeiting. In this phenomenon I see only the recognition of Nokia as a good manufacturer. A bad product will not be counterfeit. The phone eventually turned out very good in its price category. I just got used to use quite different devices and this is my second phone.

Now many people have 2 or even 3 phones. Having a second phone does not mean less usage. With a fairly active use, the battery allows you to benefit of the phone without charge four days, which is also quite acceptable. As a minus (small) can be named the soiled body and display. But, the big plus is the navigation D-pad on the phone. It not only pleased me, but also surprised with its usability and convenience. Frankly to be, I have not expected something like this from such a phone. An unexpected surprise has a double effect. So, if you do not have enough money for a super-duper phone, Nokia 5130 should please you. It justifies its cost in full.

LG GD910 Review

LG Electronics has developed an interesting hybrid of a wristwatch and a mobile phone – the gadget is called LG GD910. The new device is very original and it will certainly interest those who constantly want to be in touch, no matter what extreme conditions surround them. The phone and watch symbiosis fit on your wrist very comfortable. LG GD910 has similar size compared with a conventional wrist watches for men, but is a little thicker, reaching 1.5 inches in thickness. LG GD910 is also a waterproof gadget and its touchscreen is protected by a 1.43 inches tempered glass. LG GD910 has an excellent backlighting, which allows seeing the picture in any conditions, even very bright. The housing of LG GD910 is made from stainless steel. On one hand, the watch-phone became slightly heavier, on the other - the gadget is securely fastened to the wrist, so that particular problems will not arise for the owner. Three control buttons are located on one side of LG GD910, as in ordinary wristwatch. The watch-clock has a 0.3 megapixel camera with a resolution of 640x480. It is located directly on the display. In the same place, above the display, is also located the speaker of LG GD910. The power of this speaker is enough to communicate without using a wireless headset. The full charged battery of LG GD910 can last about two and a half days. Its capacity is 510 mAh.The owner of the watch-phone can change the clock appearance as he desires, selecting one of its preinstalled varieties, and also can use all the advanced features of a modern mobile gadget: Bluetooth, high speed internet access through 3G, MP3-player, Text-to-Speech, and a phonebook of one thousand contacts. LG GD910 supports videoconferencing.LG GD910 has 2 GB of internal memory, but, unfortunately, it can not be increased. This is one of the device disadvantages. Also, no MMS, e-mail client, WEB-browser, and radio. However, the goal of the designers was not to turn LG GD910 in a device stuffed with entertainment features. This is primarily a functional symbiosis between phone and watch with basic functions of both. The watch-Phone LG GD910 is an elegant stylish gadget that attracts attention and is characterized by a unique combination. It is quite convenient, especially during leisure time: you do not need to think in what pocket to hold your mobile phone, and how to get it then. Even when swimming or surfing, you can, not only see what time is it, glancing at your wrist, but also take incoming calls - or make outgoing calls.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic vs iPhone 3G! Who will win?

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic against iPhone 3G - this article gives ample evidence that Nokia 5800 is better than iPhone.
The appearance of the first iPhone model was a revolutionary event in the mobile devices world. The aggressive advertising policy has turned this smartphone into a super multimedia toy. In response, the other mobile phone manufacturers have decided to give an answer to Apple. As a result, Nokia released a new model, named Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. This device was immediately dubbed "the iPhone killer", but, as we see, iPhones are sold so far. Let's compare these two smartphones and find out which one is better.
Let's start with the display. Nokia 5800 has a screen size of just 0.3 inches less than iPhone: 3,2" vs 3.5”. But the screen resolution of Nokia is much better - 640×480 pixels, whereas the iPhone has only 480×320. The iPhone can be managed only with your fingers. Nokia 5800 is still controllable with a stylus and mediator, besides fingers. The advantage of the iPhone in terms of management is only the multitouch function, with other words, it can be managed with several fingers at once. However, Nokia 5800 has a much more useful function, it is able to recognize handwritten text. The iPhone lacks even the most ordinary functions, which we all have long ago been accustomed to. For example, iPhone does not send MMS messages, does not have the "copy / paste” feature, does not support voice commands and no voice recorder.
Let's talk about the built-in cameras. Nokia 5800 is equipped with a camera with a resolution matrix of 3,2 MP, Carl Zeiss lenses, LED flash and triple zoom. The iPhone camera has long ago been obsolete: 2MP resolution, but without installing third-party applications, recording video is not possible. Nokia 5800 can record video at resolutions up to 640×480 px. On the front side of the device is installed an additional camera for video calls, which is not on the iPhone. Both smartphones of course can connect to the Internet, in both models are built Wi-Fi modules. But the Nokia 5800, unlike the iPhone has a built-in browser that supports Flash. The iPhone 3G GPS works only connected to the internet. The Nokia GPS supports "walking" mode and also supports voice commands management and free maps.

As we know, the iPhones come with a fixed amount of memory: 8 or 16 GB. Owners of Nokia 5800 can choose by themselves how much memory will be in their device. Built-in Memory of Nokia is only 140 MB, but the product also includes a microSD memory card of 8 GB. In general, Nokia 5800 supports memory cards up to 16 GB.

The musical features of the devices do not differ a lot. In both models, there are stereo speakers and 3,5 mm headphone jack. But Nokia speakers are still louder and, as a gift, the manufacturer grants you the opportunity to download for free unlimited music from Nokia's Music Store for an entire year beginning with the date of purchase. The batteries of these two models are very different considering their properties. In talk mode, Nokia 5800 can work 8h, while the iPhone 10 hours. But when viewing video, Nokia can perform 35 h, while iPhone only 24h. Nokia 5800 has a standard removable battery, but the iPhone battery can not be changed. Nokia 5800 has smaller dimensions, but slightly larger in width than the iPhone.

And, the most pleasant difference between these two devices is the price: Nokia 5800 is with 1/4 and sometimes 1/3 cheaper than the iPhone.

Nokia N85 smartphone annotation

Those who use N81 and attached his soul to it, initially could not even tell the difference between this model and N85 - the design is similar, though in details the differences become apparent as soon as the device would be in hands.
Absolutely smooth surface, molded in lacquer, and even the plastic is of a higher quality. The navigation panel became much nicer.
But the main advantages are not the external ones. Nokia N85 features a much more powerful battery, a different type compared to N81. And another difference: Nokia N85 is a slider in square. With N85, sliding the panel, the owner with interest finds four keys, which he can use the additional features of the player, and to seek the most spectacular angle of the made photos.
It is worth noting that Nokia N85 offers great opportunities for games and entertainment lovers. Here we have a total of ten demo games, and not just something, but three-dimensional.
Finally, the special pride of Nokia N85 - is its screen. Yes, this is a really serious matrix. AM-OLED can significantly reduce the power consumption of the phone, and the frame rate is very effective when watching video spots or trying to win a game, full of dynamics. The OLED-display, by the way, can do very high quality images with high resolution: 2584 x 1938 px.
For those who also appreciate other qualities, we note that this smartphone is among the marathon ones - even kept working as a player, he honestly serve more than a day - a very good result. And yet - this is extremely convenient - you can charge Nokia N85 using the USB-cable.

Lifecasting will premiere on the new Nokia N97 mini, companion to the successful Nokia N97. Designed with a social and style-conscious consumer in mind, the Nokia N97 mini is a smaller mobile computer with stylish stainless steel cues, featuring a tilting 3.2" touch display, QWERTY keyboard and fully customizable homescreen that makes each Nokia N97 mini as unique as a fingerprint. Lifecasting with Ovi will be available for both the Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 mini via Nokia Beta Labs. The Nokia N97 mini features new software which will be released in October as a free update for the Nokia N97. The new software brings compelling new experiences to both devices, including new homescreen widgets and additional usability improvements including flick scrolling.

The Nokia N97 mini is powered by a new Ovi Maps experience which makes searching, finding and navigating even easier. In addition to global pedestrian navigation, people can access premium content from Lonely Planet, Michelin and Wcities, turning the Nokia N97 mini into the world's smallest travel companion.

Users can personalise the homescreen of their device even further with thousands of different applications and services available from the Ovi Store.
Curious Results of a Research Conducted in Several Countries

Lightspeed Research company has published results of its latest research aimed at defining functions of mobile phones that are popular among users now and will be popular in the future.
Mobile devices have entered our lives and are continuously enlarging their place in it. The latest mobile phones have a wide range of possibilities – that is why the company has decided to conduct a research and see which of them are really worth to be retained in future devices.
The research covered four countries: the UK, France, Germany, and USA. According to the data obtained, 49% of Americans and 30% of British confirmed they are treating their mobile devices as an indispensable part of life. Almost half of British (46%) do not part with their mobile phones at all. This category of users covers those aged between 55 and 64 years old.
Younger mobile users (18-34 years old) compare their mobile phones with a life compass they cannot life without. For instance, two thirds or 67% of British leave their phones switched on at night and only 14% of users switch them to silent mode.
“No” to Outcoming Calls
Perhaps, nobody expected the research to reveal the following trend: quite a large group of mobile users does not make calls at all. This category consists of 11% of British and 13% of Americans. Two outgoing calls a week are OK for 33% of British and 18% of American mobile phone users.
SMS messaging is treated differently and is very popular in the UK: 49% of British send at least a message a day while 2% send a picture or MMS message.
Women (56%) like sending SMS messages more than men (42%), who prefer voice communication (41%) to it, the former being less popular among women (32%).
Camera
Most of modern mobile phones are equipped with a camera and have various software and hardware based functions. Some mobile users do not find these features useful while they are becoming more and more popular.
Daily access to Internet has become a tradition for 9% of British. Thirty eight percent of users use a camera several times a week, 22% of mobile users surf the web and play games, and 18% send photos and videos to their friends.
Preferences of Mobile Phone Users
Four thousand participants of the research were offered to name functions they wanted their device to support. The satellite navigation system took the first place in all four countries (the UK, France, Germany, USA) with 49% of French, 44% of German, 43% of British, and 38% of Americans.
The opportunity to locate friends by means of a GPS-enables mobile device took the second place in all countries except Germany because of privacy rights.
It is worth mentioning that the Japanese system transforming the mobile phone into a tool to pay the public transport fare has aroused interest only in Germany. The key reason for such a low popularity of the service in other countries can be explained by the fact that a mobile device becomes more accessible to thieves. Moreover, some mobile network operators cannot technically handle a great number of requests made by the system.
Summing up, CEO of Lightspeed Research said that the mobile phone has become both an important and convenient business tool and a thing that attracts thieves’ attention. In addition, devices more often than not contain confidential data, protection of which will soon become the most important task for mobile phone manufacturers and mobile software developers.

iPhone 3GS in Brief: 1000000 Devices Sold, iPhone 3.0 Software Downloaded 6000000 Times

The iPhone 3GS is available several days only. However, more than a million devices have already been sold. The reason for great popularity of this iPhone lies in its high performance, a high-quality autofocus 3 MP camera with a “tap to focus” feature and an automatic macro focus for close up shots, incredible new features, and longer battery life.We would like to stress that the device provides the VoiceOver screen reader speaking what appears on the display that allows visually impaired users to use iPhone 3GS to read email, surf the Internet, run apps, play music and make calls. There are several more similar functions worth mentioning. They are the universal Zoom function, White on Black, and Mono Audio functions. The first one magnifies the entire screen, the second one reverses the colours so that people with low vision could read the display, and the third one combines left and right audio channels so that users with hearing loss could hear them in both earbuds. The iPhone OS 3.0 is the only mobile operating system is the whole world that supports features like Cut, Copy and Paste, MMS, landscape keyboard, Spotlight Search and many others reaching 100 new features in total. For instance, audio recordings can be captured and sent on the go with the Voice Memo application. With the OpenGL ES 2.0 standard, iPhone 3GS takes advantage for high-quality 3D graphics users need when playing mobile games and using various graphic applications. The voice control feature makes it possible to request the device to dial by name or number, to play music by artist or any other criteria, pause the music, play the next track, turn on/off shuffle, and to activate the “play more songs like this” Genius feature.Navigation is another strong point of iPhone 3GS as it has a new built-in digital compass integrated within Maps and respective application showing the place where you are now and rotating as you change direction. Finally, we’ll tell you that iPhone 3GS is all about sports and allows users to place the optional Nike + iPod sensor in their Nike + shoe and connect with their device to synchronize with the gym equipment or track miles.Source: GSMPress ® in cooperation with Apple

LG Mobile Phones can Withstand 250-meter Drop and Even More

Most mobile phone users tend to pay attention to design, functionality, interface, display type and resolution, high-end camera and do not care about a very important property as durability of the mobile device. More often that users handle their mobile phones roughly and that is why one day the phone may start malfunctioning or stop working at all. However, there are mobile phones able to withstand many things, and LG phones can serve as a vivid example of it.
You are going to read a few real stories about LG mobile phones that survived improper use.
LG EnV: 250-meter Drop
In April of 2009 LG has received a thank-you letter sent by Oscar L. Rodriguez who lives in North Carolina. Oscar’s mobile phone slipped out of its jacket when the man was practicing parachuting. LG EnV (LG VX9800) fell from a 250-meter height and ended the flight on the ground. The case of the mobile phone was not damaged and the device worked perfectly.
EnV is one of the LG messaging mobile phones with QWERTY keyboard. Eight millions of the devices have been sold in the USA only, and lately LG launched 2 more EnV models: EnV Touch (LG VX11000) and EnV3 (LG VX9200).
LG TU550 and LG Renoir Survived Severe Treatment
A farm caught fire. Naturally, the LG TU550 mobile device fused but retained such functions as calling and taking pictures. Another LG TU500 has a different story: it was lost in the dessert and found in working condition a year later.
LG Renoir with an 8 MP camera and LG ARENA featuring S-class UI survived “wine bathing” and running over by a car during testing performed by the team of the Russian Mobile.mail.ru web portal and got the highest marks. By the way, the two mobile devices turned out to be fail-safer than iPhone, Nokia XpressMusic 5800, and HTC Touch Diamond.
Strict Standards as Guarantee of High Quality
Durability of LG mobile phones is conditioned from strict quality standards common to all devices manufactured in the company. Every new device undergoes many tests ensuring their reliability and high operability of inner components without sacrificing sound quality, design, and battery life.

LG Goes on Developing HI-END Mobile Phones Despite Crisis

The worldwide market still feels the influence of the financial crisis. Most mobile phone manufacturers decided to focus on middle class mobile devices popular among many mobile users. LG has become an exception and continued working upon high-end mobile phones and delivering them to various markets. The latest high-end devices are represented by LG Arena (LG KM900), LG Viewty Smart (LG GC900), LG GD900 Crystal, and LG GM730.
The choice of the LG’s strategy can be explained by the results of current mobile phone market examination. LG Electronics has come to a conclusion that buyers have become more rational when choosing a mobile device and purchase it only if it meets all the requirements. The financial crisis virtually has no influence on the decision to buy a more expensive device if it is really worth buying.

Nokia 6220 classic Review

The 3G bar smartphone features Symbian 9.3 operating system with S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 user interface, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with xenon flash, Carl Zeiss lens and active lens cover, FM radio with RDS, HSDPA, A2DP, 2.5 mm AV jack, A-GPS, a powerful speaker, 2.2-inch QVGA crisp and clear display, 120 MB of onboard memory, and support for microSD memory cards up to 8 GB. However, we were disappointed not find Wi-Fi and accelerometer. We think that it is the omission of these two features that makes the Nokia 6220 classic mobile phone a mid-range handset.
As you can see, the mobile device meets the requirements of a large category of mobile users who do like use their phones to the max but avoid spending big money on them. Nokia 6220 classic is even too functional for a mid-range mobile device.

Voice Control Versus Touch, Gesture and Shake Control Altogether

When speaking of a perfect mobile device that is very easy and convenient to navigate and use in general, some people have in mind something with a large touch sensitive display and well designed physical QWERTY keyboard or the latest virtual one.
This viewpoint seems to be common among most of the mobile devices users as far as the most natural way to use a device hasn’t been yet developed to the max and is not that convenient to use.
Mystery of the second paragraph is over. We are speaking about voice commands. Actually, we use them all the time in real life regarding our relatives, friends, colleagues, bosses, employees, etc. And a weak point in voice controlling devices that are inanimate lies in their inability to be as “human” as we are. However, this is a matter of time because the above named ability depends on developers only, and on Tellme team in particular.

A Few Words about New Sony Ericsson W995

Sony Ericsson company has already reported that it is going to turn Walkman and Cyber-shot series into powerful multimedia mobile devices, and Sony Ericsson W995 is a vivid example of that. We daresay everybody will be surprised with its performance both as a camera phone and music mobile phone.
As for music, we can say that it is very convenient to use W995 as a player. You don’t even need to take it out of your pocket to change tracks because the size, shape, and position of buttons make it unnecessary for a user to look at the phone – it is possible to control W995 by touch.

Nokia N95 8Gb mobile phone review

Most likely, only a few were those who had seen on the first Nokia N95 box that the full model name is N95-1. So, following the idea, on the Nokia N95 8Gb box we can see N95-2 and furthermore, the box of Nokia N95 8Gb NAM (American version) has the N95-3 label. This fact proves that Nokia was planning even from the beginning the release of new N95 versions, when people were still astonished by the first “Nokia N95 – is what computers have become” like the commercials said.

The first N95 device was appreciated, but also criticized. That’s why today we will analyze what improvements Nokia N95 8Gb has got and what other possible lacks may be filled by other eventual numbers of N95.

Mobiado company was founded in 2004 in Vancouver (Canada), by 28-year designer.
Samsung M3510 Beat b cell phone review

The Samsung Beat edition – is it familiar or not really? I guess not. But Samsung has the intention to change the things as soon as possible and had started this process with the presentation of the first two models from this series named Samsung M3510 Beat b and Samsung M3200 Beat s.

Today we shall analyze the bar model, which means Samsung M3510 Beat b. But first of all let’s think why Samsung needed a new series and what the Beat series presumes to be? To this questions will answer directly the member of the series, M3510 Beat b, after a short inspection.

Even from the box we can see the main technical specifications of the phone: as thin as 9.9mm, included microSD card (1Gb), FM radio, 3.5 mm audio output jack, Motion Play (music control through taping/turning/shaking the phone) plus the “Beat” name and the DNSe™ audio processor – all these are proving the musical character of the phone and of the series overall.

In what concerning the cause of this new series, I think is obvious, Samsung has many series, but none of them is musical, which was a some kind of lack of the manufacturer. Now we have a new player on the stage next to the XpressMusic edition from Nokia and Walkman series from Sony Ericsson.

Samsung U800 Soul b review

The Ultra Series from Samsung is well known for its elegance and records in slim design. The glory has started to grow with the U600 and U700 models. When U900 Soul appeared, it seemed that the series has received a crown and will remain unchanged for a good time, but it wasn’t so.

Samsung U800 Soul b is the living proof of a new born series, under the name of “Soul”, which now has all the three form factors: slide (U900), bar (U800) and clamshell (G400). This new series has kept all the goodies from Ultra series, U800 has only 9.9 mm thickness, but it had added “weight” and style through its metal polished case, which gives it class.

So, what Samsung U800 Soul b has to offer? It’s a slim mobile phone with straight, but in the same time, cool design, with a quality display of 16M colors, 3G, 3Mp digital camera with flash, FM with RDS, Bluetooth with A2DP and not the last – 1Gb internal memory!

Let’s analyze them one by one.

Sony Ericsson W980i Review

One of the most popular Sony Ericsson series between music funs is the Walkman series. If we shall access the official site of the manufacturer and browse the phones under the “music phones” criteria, then Sony Ericsson W980i automatically moves to the head of the list. Yes, indeed, the W980i model is the last addition of this segment and represents the flagship of the Walkman series.

Sony Ericsson has come with some nice surprises, which are unexpected and uncharacteristic for the manufacturer till now, but which seems to become traditional hence further. Some of these surprises are the built in 8Gb memory, FM transmitter, visual effects and others – things that suit very well a musical phone. Of course, all the other usual Walkman features as SensMe, TrackID, Shake Control and the Walkman 3.0 player are present and they fulfill the musical side of this phone.

Well, it seems that is not only us who have appreciated the phone’s features – Sony Ericsson W980i had been nominated the best music phone of the 2008 by EISA. Let’s see why it deserves this title.

Mobiado Classic Line Review

In this review we are going to talk about Mobiado Classic Line collection cell phones: Luminoso, Stealth and Lucido. Engineering and technical aspects will be frequently touched upon and will represent the most important part of the review because materials Mobiado uses in their phones always deserve a lot of attention being the strongest point of the company. Actually all Mobiado phones can be called masterpieces and resemble jewelry – so precisely engineered they are. And their clear-cut shape and solidity of body make them inimitable in their beauty. There is a very simple way to completely realize the power of combination of the refined design and a great engineer’s idea together with valuable materials – you should just imagine for a second that Mobiado cell phones are not for a museum collection but for the hands and pockets of their owners that use them day by day…

Nokia N96 mobile phone Review

In the middle of 2007, Nokia has released the N95 smartphone, which became the most "packed" mobile phone of that time. It has combined high efficiency and powerful multimedia features, for what the manufacturer has named N95 a multimedia computer. After a year, Nokia has presented the successor of the first multimedia computer – the N96 smartphone.

It was expected, that Nokia N96 will lift the smartphones edge of functionality on a new level. But the manufacturer has decided in another way. If N95 was a multipurpose combine or the smartphone-monster, then with N96 is another story, it has a precisely expressed specialization - it is made for video work.

The smartphone’s orientation on a video content is emphasized by several things. First, Nokia N96 has installed a big 2,8 inches screen, displaying 16 million colors. Its maximal resolution - 240х320 pixels. The picture is very bright and juicy. On the sun, even if the screen fades, but the image remains clear.

Besides, the mobile phone is equipped with mobile TV reception module. Also, N96 can search for videoclips in the Network and automatically sort them according to the user’s inquiry.

An addition which emphasizes the smartphone video orientation is the leaning back frame of the digital camera on its back panel. It serves as a support for the phone body, having it transformed in a mini TV.

By the way, the smartphone is delivered with the "Transformers" movie on board (at least, the test sample). It will allow to test Nokia N96 as a mobile TV right after purchase.

For those who do not love small screens, with Nokia N96 there is a cable for connection to the TV included in the content package. Basically, N96 can be used as a pocket videoplayer, especially due to its high memory volume of 16Gb plus the microSD card.

On the Nokia N96 screen it is possible to watch not only downloaded from the web video, but also your own made video rollers. For this purpose, the smartphone is equipped with a 5Mp digital camera and Carl Zeiss optics. It allows to record video in VGA resolution with a 30 fps speed.

Precisely the same digital camera has been used in Nokia N95. But there, it looked more seriously. All the aspect is made by the protective lens cover used for N95. N96 lacks the lens cover.

Instead of the lens cover, N96 has two light-emitting diodes which serve as a flash at bad illumination. Probably, for a top smartphone, a xenon flash would have looked more logically, but the Nokia engineers know better.

One more asset of the mobile phone is the GPS-navigation. Here all is standard: it is possible plan a route, to search for the shortest way, to measure the made distance, speed of movement and the time spent for taking a route.

For navigation, Nokia N96 uses the on-line application - Nokia Maps. It means, that all the maps are loaded from the Internet, therefore it is necessary to be prepared for the traffic charges. Especially it is actual for those who prefer to use satellite pictures, instead of schematical images of the district.

Samsung i900 WiTu (Omnia) mobile phone review

At a quick survey of the Samsung i900 communicator, involuntarily arise a desire to compare it with iPhone. But, is it really correct to compare these two devices? Is it really Omnia a direct competitor of Apple iPhone? More likely another case takes place here: iPhone’s main guiding line is the idea of convenient touch management which also was “barrowed” by other “enterprising manufacturers”.

Among "enterprising manufacturers" there was also Samsung. Within last year it has had time to create some "iPhone killers" - F490, F700. In comparison with "the ideological inspirer" the announced models had some changes (for example, the QWERTY-keyboard in F700). For quite some time, they began to differ in price too, which is almost twice less than iPhone price.

At the same time, the Apple phone is a smartphone (Mac OS X) and, with the advent of a high-grade OS, the "usual" devices from Samsung cannot keep up with it. Therefore, the South-Korean company has not stopped on the reached level and has presented the i900 model.

The index "i" speaks about the presence in the device of an operational system. Samsung has enough experience with the smartphones, both, on Symbian and on Windows Mobile. The novelty has the last scheme, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.

Motorola C168 Mobile Phone Review

Design
The C168i has an uncomplicated candy bar design. With straight lines, rounded edges, and an unassuming black-and-silver color scheme, it doesn't call attention to itself. At just 4.1x1.8x0.55 inches and 2.75 ounces, it's compact and portable so it slips into a pocket with ease. The phone feels comfortable in the hand, even if it's a bit small for users with big paws, but we couldn't help noticing that the plastic battery cover felt a tad flimsy.
The display on the C168i is low-key. It measures 1.5 inches diagonally (128x128 pixels), which is somewhat small for the phone's overall size, and it supports 65,536 colors. Normally we'd gripe about such a low-resolution screen, but on this caliber of phone we don't mind. Just remember that graphics aren't very sharp and colors are somewhat washed out. You can change only the backlight time.

The Motorola C168i is quite compact.
The C168i's navigation controls are a mixed bag. The toggle and central OK button are raised above the surface, which gives them a tactile feel. They are slightly cramped, however, so you may want to give the controls a test run first. The toggle can be set as a shortcut to four user-defined functions. On the downside, the soft keys are flush with the surface of the phone and appear to blend in with the black border surrounding the display. We'd like more tactile definition.
Fortunately, the backlit keypad buttons and the Talk and End/power keys are raised, which made it easy to dial by feel. The numbers on the keys are small, but that's understandable on such a compact phone. Yet we're really disappointed that the C168i doesn't have an external volume rocker. That means you must remove the phone from your face during a call to adjust the volume. The only features on the exterior of the phone are a charger port on the left spine and a headset jack on the phone's top end.
Features
The Motorola C168i has a small phone book with room for 600 contacts. Each entry holds five phone numbers as well as a single field for a note, an e-mail address, a postal address, or a Web address. You can save callers to groups, but you can't assign any of the 27 polyphonic ringtones to specific callers. Features on the C168i are strictly functional. You're limited to a calculator, a calendar, an alarm lock, text and multimedia messaging, and a vibrate mode. There's no speakerphone, unfortunately.
You can personalize the C168i with a variety of wallpaper, color styles, and alert sounds. You can download more options and ringtones with the WAP 2.0 wireless Web browser. You get three Java (J2ME) games--Soccer, Rebels, and Crazy, but gameplay on such a phone isn't very fun.
Performance
We tested the dual-band (GSM 850/1900) Motorola C168i in San Francisco using AT&T service. Call quality was decent on the whole, but the audio quality was fuzzy in the background. It wasn't too distracting, but it was noticeable just the same. Callers didn't report any problems on their end except for a slight amount of wind noise. That said, automated calling systems could understand us.
The C168i has a rated battery life of 9.1 hours talk time and 14.1 days standby time. Our tests revealed an impressive talk time of 8 hours. According to FCC radiation tests, the C168i has a digital SAR of 1.44 watts per kilogram.

Nokia E71 Review

Nokia E71 - it is more than a work on the previous E61i QWERTY-smartphone’s mistakes. The device combines in itself the functionality of a business assistant and a much more attractive appearance in comparison with the predecessors.

Originally, the idea of ruler E (in particular, smartphones with full QWERTY keyboard) was intended exclusively to business-users: a maximum of features for work, Wi-Fi, lack of digital camera and other multimedia features. Actually, the implementation of these conditions can be seen only in the first model - Е61. In the following reincarnations of the E- models, practically all the multimedia opportunities have been returned to the consumer.

The market of the QWERTY keyboard phones is not characterized by dynamism, its target audience is narrow, and the announcements of similar devices are infrequent outside America – the main lands of BlackBerry-devices. In this light, it becomes especially important to update the E segment.

After the Е71 release - the newest model in the QWERTY devices series - a serious blank between the devices indexes was formed (after consecutive release of Е61 and Е61i). However, the indexes difference evidently shows significant distinctions in functional saturation and positioning.

LG KF755 Secret Review

Touch screen, accelerometer, carbon and glass - such a mixture is by far not common even among smartphones. LG Secret - is an embodiment of the notorious idea "all and now". The phone combines in itself a quite fashionable accessory and a technically sated (sometimes even over sated) device.

If we shall remember the development history of the LG trendy series, than these will be its most confident steps on the way to success. Firstly, a rough agiotage and record sales had surrounded the Chocolate model and its successors (with the recognizable glossy case and the touch-pad block). Some time later, the company announced the Shine series which has introduced thin outlines and cold shine of metal.

After releasing basically opposite models by philosophy, LG was considered in almost crisis of ideas which now experiences Motorola. For the majority, perhaps, long time was a secret: what model will become the continuation of the manufacturer’s trendy collection? Well, the answer to this question sounds the same - Secret.

E-Ten Glofiish Х900 Review

At the end of the last year, E-TEN Information Systems has presented the Glofiish X800 communicator. This model became the first where have been combined the VGA-screen, the GPS module and 3G support. All this has made Х800 not only the leader among the E-TEN communicators, but also one of the best devices on the market. Later, after more than half a year, the company has prepared a replacement for Х800. It became Glofiish Х900.

Apple iPhone 3G Review

iPhone 3G – this is the modernized attempt of Apple to offer the market a new product. The first device was not possessing some important elements for the American and European user (even the same 3G), and also obviously was not intended for mass selling. Only now the Foxconn factories deliver 150 thousand phones per day, and, if to trust the rumors, the company from Cupertino has suggested to some operators to sell absolutely fantastic volumes of devices.

Here, it is necessary to make a notice. The phone was not intended for mass selling in the countries where these sales went officially: the standard price for a device of such class was being supplemented with enough high rates from the operators (to use the operator’s services - for example more data transmission - the phone itself was pushing the user). As a result, the iPhone repeated the marketing formula of other Apple products – not cheap, not ordinary, not for all.

Outside the AT&T cover zone and other (not numerous) official operators reigned the "grey" market: a chain of mobile phones deliveries went there where consumers are especially greedy for functional and stylish devices. Officially it is not known how it could be explained - whether it was a plotting theory (Apple’s attempt to expand the iPhone area of distribution by guerrilla methods) or a spontaneous reaction of the market which has requested a quite good product (this variant seems us closer to the truth). However, iPhone has got a significant popularity and became an absolutely recognizable phone in far from Cupertino countries.
